Different people will have very different ways of approaching a job, some will have a fixed design that they want someone to make, others will have a space and just a rough idea.
Either way the process normally starts with a visit, to see the space and have a conversation. Sometimes this can be done over the phone.
I’ll produce an initial design and a quote, we then modify, make adjustments, redraw some aspects, arrive at a finished design and price. I don’t usually charge for this part of the process.
Once the design has been agreed I’ll ask for a deposit of 30%. This confirms the order and books the job into my schedule. Depending on the size of the job, I may ask for a second payment midway through, and the final payment would be due on completion of the job.
