About Me

I began my career in woodwork at the bottom and worked my way up, gaining knowledge and experience from other makers, working for different people. It was always workshop based, no formal training from college or university.

Gradually I began to get requests from friends and neighbours to make things in my own time, and my company was established in 2006.

I took the plunge in 2008 and went full time renting a bench in another makers workshop. In 2010 I took on my first premises in Oxfordshire. In 2019, looking for a complete change of scenery, I moved the workshop to its current location in the Scottish Borders.

Over the past 25 years I've worked on many varied projects, from exotic veneers to painted joinery, I've worked on boats and campervans, jewellery boxes to waney edged tables, all my work receives the same attention to detail from design to delivery, no corners are cut.

My style is contemporary but rooted in tradition, I'm a hand tool enthusiast, I enjoy working with wood. Epoxy resin tables and high gloss finishes have their place but will they stand the test of time? I make furniture designed for the long term, strong joints that wont fail after a few years matched with subtle, understated forms.
